Floyd Farley, MSHA
Chief Executive Officer
Floyd Farley has a 30-year background in healthcare administration and practice management. As CEO of SmartCareMD, he oversees practice management services and managed care arrangements for independent primary care physicians and specialists in the Greater San Diego area. SmartCareMD clients currently range from solo family medicine practices to a large, 14-location multi-specialty practice with 70-plus physicians and providers. This large practice has a patient base of 30,000-plus HMO patients and provides more than 200,000 patient visits annually.
Previously Mr. Farley served as Executive Director of Arizona Physician’s Center and Regional Vice President for North American Medical Management with Phycor, Inc. in Phoenix, Arizona. He likewise served as Chief Executive Officer for Kern Medical Center, a 220-bed teaching facility in Bakersfield, California.
Mr. Farley holds a Master’s degree in Hospital and Health Services Administration from The Ohio State University. He earned a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Cleveland State University.
Leslie Chapman, MBA
Chief Financial Officer
Ms. Chapman previously was Director of Managed Care Operations for the Centre for Healthcare and Finance Manager for Baxter Healthcare, both in San Diego. She also worked for the Scripps Clinic and Research Foundation, where she administered, developed and supervised activities related to 10 clinical divisions and laboratory and support divisions, with revenue budgets of $12 million and 48,000 patient visits.
Ms. Chapman received her Master of Business Administration degree with a concentration in Finance and a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from San Diego State University.
Jackie Craw, MSHR, SPHR, SHRM-SCP
Director of Human Resources
As Human Resources Director, Ms. Craw has oversight for Workforce Strategic Planning, Training and Development, Compensation and general management of all Human Resources functions relating to SmartCareMD. Ms. Craw has over 20 years’ experience in the Human Resources field. She holds a Master’s degree in Human Resources from Chapman University and two professional HR certifications: Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR) and Society of Human Resource Management – Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP). Ms. Craw is active in her community and is a member of several advisory boards for student development in the medical field.
Director of Practice Operations
Mr. Andersen brings 15 years of diverse practice management experience that includes physician practices, hospitals, and ambulatory surgery centers. He is responsible for all aspects of client day-to-day operations to assure optimal workflow and productivity. Within a continuously-evolving healthcare landscape, he is further responsible for implementing policy and procedure updates while maintaining quality standards and ensuring practice success.
Director of Business Office
Ms. Gesino has nearly two decades of medical practice revenue cycle management experience. As SmartCareMD’s business office manager she oversees billing, accounts receivable, charge capture, electronic claims submission and reconciliation, electronic remittance and payment posting, account follow-up and denial management, and accounts receivable. She provides these services to a wide range of practice sizes and specialties including solo practitioners, small group practices with two to five physicians, and a large multi-specialty medical group.
Director of Practice Operations
Ms. Moore brings over 10 years of experience in medical office management. As a Practice Administrator, she is charged with managing the day-to-day operations of SmartCareMD client offices. Her responsibilities include: initial asset inventory; implementing Human Resources policies and procedures; new hires and training; establishing work schedules to ensure a controlled workflow, and overseeing the maintenance of building, grounds and office equipment; and community outreach and development. Previously she was responsible for Business Development at Mending Kids, a worldwide non-profit organization providing free, corrective, transformational surgeries to children in need, and Orthopedic Manager at Children’s Hospital of Los Angeles.
